immigrants crossing the US-Mexico border in Eagle Pass, Texas, authorities call
this as one of the largest single crossings in the history. The Texas National
Guard soldiers under the Operation Lone Star were the first to detect the group
of illegal immigrants. The immigrants are now under the custody of the
authorities. They are composed of are 535 people from Cuba, 74 from Nicaragua,
49 from Columbia, 31 from Dominican Republic, 9 from Peru, 3 from Ecuador and 3
from Mexico. The largest illegal crossing happened in 2019 where 1,036 people
were caught in El Paso, Texas. During these scenarios, authorities pull to
specific areas leaving other borders unmanned and vulnerable to smugglers.
